Heavy Duty truck to aid Ukraine

As the war has continued, Fleet Service Limited has been proud and honoured to be able to provide this support to the Ukrainian people. Repurposing our available armoured vehicles for humanitarian relief has been a hugely worthwhile endeavour

The latest and biggest in a series of armoured vehicles destined for aid work in Ukraine has been prepared for action by Fleet Service Limited. As with its predecessors, this vehicle was previously used for the secure transport of high value goods and cash within the UK.

The truck left Fleet Service Limited’s Preston workshop yesterday, May 4th. It has been loaded up with medical supplies including large and valuable scanning equipment and will be making its way to Ukraine.

This latest vehicle, a heavy duty converted Mercedes Actross, is able to carry far more cargo than the armoured delivery vans Fleet Service Limited have previously prepared for work in the war zone. New uprated armour materials have been supplied by one the UK’s leading specialist armour material manufacturers, ASL GRP aslgrp.com

These products have been installed to the vehicle to improve their protection levels for the drivers and aid workers who will potentially need to contend with the projectiles, explosives and gunfire that may be encountered in a conflict situation.

Aa further protection for the aid workers, leading UK protective equipment supplier Resizt ltd. rezizt.com has provided personal armour for the effort. The helmet and vest supplied by Rezizt will be worn by the aid workers as they travel into potentially dangerous areas and situations.

This aid initiative has been put in place by Polish Association Gloucestershire, with city councillor Alastair Chambers taking charge of the sourcing and personal delivery of the aid-laden vehicles across the Polish border into Ukraine.

As a supplier to the security industry and a custom specialist, Fleet Service are quickly able to source and adapt vehicles to relevant road standards and the particular requirements of their role.
